Police say 1 was killed, and 4 were injured in a wrong way crash in Independence.

(AP) - Police in the Kansas City suburb of Independence say one person has died and four others were critically to seriously injured in a wrong-way crash. Police say the crash happened Wednesday night when a vehicle driving south in the northbound lanes of Little Blue Parkway hit another vehicle head-on. The driver and three passengers in the northbound car were taken to a hospital, where the driver died. Authorities say one of the passengers in that car was in critical condition, while the other two were in stable condition. Police say the wrong-way driver also was hospitalized with significant injuries, but was stable. Police have not released the names of those involved.
