Hawley’s book dropped by publisher

Missouri U.S. Senator Josh Hawley’s upcoming book has been dropped by its publisher.
Simon and Schuster had faced calls to drop the upcoming book, “The Tyranny of Big Tech,” following criticism of his efforts to overturn the presidential election.
The book was scheduled to be released in June. Hawley has frequently criticized Facebook, Twitter, and other social media giants for alleged anti-conservative bias and monopolistic control of the online market.
The publisher says they take their large public responsibility as citizens seriously and “cannot support Senator Hawley after his role in what became a dangerous threat.”
Hawley then released the following statement: “This could not be more Orwellian. Simon & Schuster is canceling my contract because I was representing my constituents, leading a debate on the Senate floor on voter integrity, which they have now decided to redefine as sedition. Let me be clear, this is not just a contract dispute. It’s a direct assault on the First Amendment. Only approved speech can now be published. This is the Left looking to cancel everyone they don’t approve of. I will fight this cancel culture with everything I have. We’ll see you in court.”
When the book was first announced back in October, Hawley said it is needed to shed a light on big tech. “At a time when these platforms are determining elections, banning inconvenient political views, lining politicians’ pockets with hundreds of millions of dollars, and addicting our kids to screens, I want to draw attention to the robber barons of the modern era,” Hawley said in a statement. “This is the fight to recover America’s populist democracy. That is why I am writing this book.
