Supplemental Budget Headed to the Missouri Senate
A proposed one-point-two billion dollar supplemental budget is now heading to the Missouri Senate, after receiving overwhelming bipartisan support on Tuesday.
The Missouri House voted 133-4 to give final approval to the 1.27 billion supplemental, which is the reason for the special session. The supplemental budget includes 75-million dollars to the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) for school nutrition programs statewide.
Kirkwood Democratic State Representative Deb Lavender unsuccessfully pushed an amendment that would have provided ten-million dollars for Operation Food Search in St. Louis. While GOP amendment opponents praise the organization, they say it’s not an approved vendor.
