Jasper County to introduce new K9 named after fallen officer

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office wants you to meet K-9 “Arner”. They are holding an event at the Sheriff’s Office at 231 S. Main in Carthage at 10:30 AM.
Arner, a Belgian Malinois, was purchased from proceeds donated by the Arvest Foundation.
“Arner” was named after the late Sgt. Scott Arner, who passed away in the line of duty on January 4, 2002.
Sgt. Arner was a 13-year veteran of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office and was a K-9 Officer.
In addition to meeting K-9 “Arner”, the Carthage Police Department will have a patrol car on display that is
outfitted with a new thermal imaging camera that was also purchased from funds donated by the Arvest
Foundation.
