19-year-old arrested after missing Joplin girl found safe

A 19-year-old man from Wisconsin has been arrested in the case of a missing girl from Joplin, who has now been found safe.

Police in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, say that the man made the nearly 10-hour drive to Joplin back in mid-September and picked 14-year-old Leora Hardee up and took her back to his home, where she had been staying since.

Late Monday night, she turned herself in to police there and has now been reunited with her family. That criminal investigation continues.
