Homicide investigation underway in Vernon County

The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office early Thursday, responded to a report of a deceased person at a residence on Quail Road in the southwest area of Vernon County near the Kansas line Wednesday morning.

Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher said his office requested assistance from the Missouri State Highway
Patrol’s Investigations Unit and the Bates County Sheriff’s Office.

A news release from the Vernon County Sheriff's office says Aaron Goodwin is being sought by authorities for abandonment of a corpse in connection with the homicide.

The victim has been identified as 63-year-old Connie J. Goodwin, the mother of Aaron Goodwin.

It is believed that Aaron is in the Hot Springs, Arkansas area. Anyone with information regarding the location of Aaron Goodwin can contact the VCSO communications center at (417) 667-6042
