Galena woman waives preliminary hearing on charges

44-year-old Carolee J. LaTurner of Galena will be going to trial on several charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, forgery and identity theft.

That’s after she waived a preliminary hearing in Jasper County Circuit Court last week.

She’s accused of selling stealing and selling a handgun to a Joplin pawn shop at a time when prior felony convictions made it illegal for  her to possess a firearm.

She’s also accused of passing an allegedly forged check using another woman’s identification for over $200 at a Joplin Auto Parts supply store.
