Pittsburg man arrested for uploading child porn

A man from Pittsburg was arrested for uploading child porn to the internet. Read the full press release below:

On Tuesday, September 29, 2020, the Pittsburg Police Department received information from an investigator with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force out of Wichita, Kansas, indicating that an unknown suspect had uploaded child pornographic images to the Internet from an address in the City of Pittsburg.

An investigation was immediately launched by detectives with the Pittsburg Police Department, which resulted in the execution of a search warrant for electronic evidence at a residence in
Pittsburg on October 1, 2020. The execution of that search warrant yielded additional information, which eventually resulted in the arrest of 34-year-old Christopher Stephenson, of Pittsburg, on the afternoon of October 2, 2020.

Stephenson, who had met with investigators at the police department, was arrested on two counts of felony sexual exploitation of a child specifically related to the possession of sexually explicit images of children under the age of eighteen. Stephenson was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Crawford County Jail where he was booked in and is being held in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
