Mural targeted for Carthage Square

A new mural of famous citizens of Carthage could be coming to that city's square - with the help of some fundraising.

The 28 by 44 foot mural by artist Andy Thomas will depict zoologist Marlin Perkins, female pioneer office-holder Annie Baxter and astronaut Janet Kavandi, among many others.

Abi Almandinger of Vision Carthage says the group will need to raise around $115,000 to make the project a reality.
