Young boy drowns in Parsons Lake Saturday

A 5-year-old boy drowned in southeast Kansas over the weekend.
Officers were dispatched to Parsons Lake Saturday evening. When they arrived, they found people already performing CPR on a 5-year-old boy who lay on the shore.
The child was transported to the Labette Health Emergency Department where he was later pronounced dead.
Police say they don't have any reason to believe it was anything other than an unfortunate incident.
The child's name has not been released.
