Joplin woman injured in Iowa crash

Authorities continue to investigate a three-vehicle crash Sunday night in Dallas County, Iowa that involved a driver from Joplin.

The Iowa State Patrol says a pickup on Highway 44 crossed the center line and hit two vehicles going eastbound.

The pickup driver, 31-year-old Samantha Whitney of Joplin, and 58-year old Rhonda Gagg of Perry, Iowa were taken to the hospital with serious, life threatening injures.

Three others were also injured. The pickup was reported stolen just before the crash.

A State Patrol spokesman said alcohol could be involved but no charges have yet been filed.
