Joplin's COVID-19 death toll up to 14

Joplin's death toll from COVID-19 has reached 14. Read portions of the press release below:

The Joplin Health Department is sad to report the deaths of a Joplin resident. Coronavirus was a significant condition contributing to this death. The individual was an 85-year-old male resident at Spring River Christian Village, a long-term care facility in Joplin. This announcement brings the total count to 14 deaths in Joplin.

The management of the Spring River facility has been working closely with the Joplin Health Department, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Section for Long Term Care and recently had all their staff and residents tested for the virus. The situation continues to be monitored closely.
