Long term care facility's death rate rises to twelve

The count of COVID-19 deaths at Joplin's Spring River Christian Village has now climbed to twelve.

That's according to a statement from that long term-care facility.

Even so, Joplin Health Department is keeping the number at nine pending confirmation of the cause of the deaths with the county coroner's office.

The Spring River facility says 30 employees and associates also have tested positive for the coronavirus.
