Oronogo man seriously injured after crash involving intoxicated driver

A man from Oronogo suffered serious injuries after he was hit by a driver who was allegedly under the influence Monday morning west of Jasper.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 27-year-old Colby Castaneda was driving north on Highway 43 around 8 a.m. when a car crossed the center line and hit him.

That driver of that car, 21-year-old Sydney Whitmire of Camdenton, was then arrested and is now facing several charges: 1) FELONY- DWI- DRUGS- SERIOUS PHYSICAL INJURY 2) FELONY- POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 3) MISDEMEANOR- PARAPHERNALIA 4) DRIVING WHILE SUSPENDED OR REVOKED 5) NO INSURANCE 6) NO SEATBELT 7)FAILURE TO DRIVE ON THE RIGHT HALF OF THE ROADWAY
