Joplin man killed in Thursday morning accident

A man from Joplin was killed in a one-vehicle accident Thursday morning. Read the full press release below:

On June 18th, 2020, at 10:13 am, officers with the Joplin Police Department responded to the
intersection of 43rd Street and south Pearl Avenue for a motor vehicle crash. The initial
investigation has determined a passenger truck was traveling west on 43rd Street and left the
roadway at the T-intersection at Pearl Avenue.

The vehicle, driven by 48-year-old Robert Goodson of Joplin, entered private property and struck a tree. Goodson was pronounced deceased following the crash. Next of kin has been notified.

The Joplin Police Department Major Crash Team is actively working the crash investigation and further details will be released if they become available.
