Neosho woman arrested for allegedly shooting boyfriend
A woman from Neosho was arrested for assault and armed criminal action after allegedly shooting her boyfriend in Joplin Wednesday. Read the full update below:
The gunshot victim, identified as 41-year-old Manuel Davis of Joplin, was treated at a local hospital in stable condition. Davis was shot one time in the chest. The suspect, identified as 48-year-old Jody Spillman of Neosho, was arrested for Domestic Assault 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action.

On May 27, 2020 at approximately 12:18 P.M. JPD Officers were dispatched to 807 S Moffet Ave for reports of gunshots. Upon arrival one male was located with a gunshot to his chest in the parking lot. The adult male was transported from the scene to a local hospital for treatment. Detectives on are scene now investigating the incident. Joplin Police are not seeking any other individuals in connection to this shooting currently. The victim is in stable condition and being treated at a local hospital.
