Private service held for longtime Galena Fire Chief

A family funeral service took place this morning (Saturday, April 18th) for longtime Galena Volunteer Fire Department Chief Bill Hall.

Hall became chief in 1985. He also had worked as an educator, holding several positions in the Joplin public school system over the years. He was a driving force behind the annual "Galena Days" celebration.

A more public ceremony will take place in the future after the coronavirus pandemic becomes less of a threat.

Hall died last week at age 82.
