Leggett & Platt Lays Off Hundreds

422 employees at Leggett & Platt in Carthage are temporarily out of a job, although the letter sent to employees does not give a timeline, or guarantee that they will be reinstated once the pandemic is over. The layoffs represent 20% of the entire company's workforce in Missouri.

Globally, Leggett & Platt employs 22,000 people in 18 countries, including 16 plants in China that employs 5,200 people.
