Five arrested after Joplin SWAT team surrounds home

Suspects wanted in connection to an alleged armed robbery in Joplin Tuesday morning have been taken into custody. Police got the call around 8:15 a.m in the 2500 block of South Grand Avenue where the victims said the suspects had entered the house and stole property at gunpoint. Fortunately no one was injured in the incident.

Joplin Police were then able to locate the suspect’s vehicle about 15 minutes later parked in front of a house in the 2700 block of South Minnesota Avenue.

After several hours of trying to get the suspects to come out of the home, including using gas, Joplin SWAT were able to get all the suspects out.

The following arrests have been made in this investigation:

Tyrell Harbin was arrested and charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, and Armed Criminal Action.

Dustin Detherage has been arrested for Robbery 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, and Armed Criminal Action.

Megan Detherage has been arrested for Burglary 1st Degree.

Also arrested out of the residence on unrelated warrants were Josee Karguth and Charles Murphy.
