Sandstone Gardens destroyed by fire

Sandstone Gardens, located off I-44 just west of Joplin, was destroyed by fire early Sunday morning. Deputy Chief Ronnie Metcalf of the Redings Mill Fire Department said the first call came in around 2 am. "We arrived in the area to find a fully involved commercial structure with fire through the roof," Metcalf said. The bistro and home decor business, located off I-44 near the Loma Linda area appears to be a complete loss. No one was injured. The business had been located in that location since 2004.

Metcalf says units responded from Redings Mill, Joplin, the Quapaw Nation, Seneca District, Seneca City and Galena.

Metcalf says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
