Trespasser Taken Down Outside Joplin Residence Inn

Sirens could heard all through Joplin as a dozen emergency units raced to the Residence Inn next to Cheddar's after two officers called for back-up in taking down a suspect that was unaffected by mace and a taser.

It all began just before noon Thursday afternoon when an employee at the hotel called Joplin Police about a man trespassing on the property and refusing to leave. The suspect, who's name has not yet been released, was wrestled to the ground and arrested. He was never able to get inside the hotel.
