Matheny Named Royals Manager

Mike Matheny is getting a big promotion. Less a year after he was hired as the Kansas City Royals special adviser for player development, he's been named the team's new manager. Matheny made the move across I-70 after he was fired from the St. Louis Cardinals in 2018 after seven seasons. Matheny replaces Ned Yost, who retired last month.
