IED found, detonated south of Joplin

A suspicious device… turned out to be an explosive device. A man found a pipe wrapped in tape in an empty parking lot in the 5100 block of South Rangeline Friday morning. The Springfield Bomb Squad was called in and successfully safely detonated the IED just after noon.
