Route D Bridge Opening Postponed

The new Route D bridge over Center Creek, south of Oronogo, will not be ready by September 1st. Work on the bridge was postponed on several occasions due to flooding an extremely wet spring and summer.

MoDOT says the bridge should be finished by sometime this fall, but more wet weather could the timeline back even further.

Construction began the week of April 1, 2019.

Contractor crews are replacing the 84-year-old old bridge with a new structure, which will be 12 feet higher, 18 feet wider with no truss at a cost of $3 million.
