Joplin No Longer On The Hook To Pay Anselm's Severance

The City of Joplin is no longer on the hook for paying former Joplin City Manager Sam Anselm more than $3,000 a week in severance, plus benefits, since he started a new job Wednesday as the city administrator in the St. Louis suburb of Wildwood.

When Anselm resigned in March, Joplin agreed to pay him for seven months or until he found a new job.

Anselm was promoted to Joplin City Manager in 2014.
