Northbound Route 249 Bridge Over 17th St. In Joplin CLOSED

Prepare for some headaches if you take 249 while passing by Joplin. The northbound bridge over 17th Street will close next Monday (July 22) for about a month around the clock while MoDot crews make improvements to the bridge approach.

You'll be directed to use a signed detour of Zora Street (Route VV ) east to Prosperity Avenue (Jasper County Route AA) north to Jasper County Route HH.

This work is part of a larger project to improve the approaches to several bridges on Route 249 between Missouri Route 171 and 20th Street in Joplin.

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.
