Bicycle accident claims life of Joplin woman

A woman from Joplin has died from her injuries after she was hit by a car while riding her bicycle. On Monday at 7:20 PM, police officers with the Joplin Police Department were called to west 7th Street at Walmart Drive for an injury crash.

28-year-old Amber Donellan was traveling west in the eastbound lane of traffic, lost control of her bicycle and was hit by an eastbound
vehicle. She was transported to a local hospital with injuries where she later died.

The driver of the vehicle’s name was 18-year-old Anna Beal, of Joplin. Joplin Police’s Major Crash Team is investigating the crash. The investigation is on-going. Updates will be released as they become available.
