Willard couple killed in weather-related crash near Springfield

(AP) A downpour of rain contributed to a deadly double fatality crash near Springfield Tuesday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 11:30 a.m. when the victim’s SUV hydroplaned across the center of U.S. 160 about 1 mile west of Springfield and hit a tractor-trailer. Patrol Sgt. Jason Pace says it was raining heavily at the time.

The victims were identified as 23-year-old Brandon Beasley and his wife, 24-year-old Christin Beasley, of Willard.
