Sex Offender Won't Spend A Day In Jail For Loitering At Joplin Swimming Pool

A convicted rapist that was caught hanging around the Schifferdecker Park swimming pool last year won't be spending even a day in jail for violating the state's sex offender law.

43-year-old Cliffton Love pleaded guilty to the loitering charge in March, but Jasper County Judge David Mouton gave him a two year suspended sentence this week. Love will also be placed on five years of probation.

Love was seen inside the pool's fencing by an off-duty officer last June. As a registered sex offender, Love wasn't supposed to be within 500 feet of a public park or swimming pool.
