Two killed over weekend in Will Rogers Turnpike accident

Two people are dead following a head-on collision on the Will Rogers Turnpike east of Miami just after midnight Sunday.

The accident took place near mile marker 322 eastbound, 9 miles east of Miami, Okla. in Ottawa County.

The driver of one vehicle, 46-year-old Christopher Bowen of Miami, Okla. died in the accident.

Also killed was the driver of a second car, 32-year-old Waylon Humphrey of Rolla, Mo.

Reports have said one vehicle was traveling the wrong way on the Turnpike. That has not been confirmed in a report distributed by the Oklahoma State Highway Patrol.

The accident remains under investigation.
