Jasper County voters head to polls next Tuesday

Jasper County voters will head to the polls next Tuesday, April 2. The balloting will decide a number of elections and propositions.

Jasper County Proposition One will ask voters to extend a one and a quarter percent county-wide sales tax for fifteen more years.

Carl Junction will ask voters to approve two propositions - a tax to fund a public library AND a local “Use” tax for internet purchases.

Carl Junction, Carthage, Diamond, Joplin, Sarcoxie and Diamond will hold school board elections.

A number of municipalities also will hold city elections.

Jasper County Clerk Charlie Davis' office has provided a complete list of issues voters will encounter on April 2.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
