Off-Duty JPD Officer Gets A Wanted Felon Behind Bars

Joplin Police officers take pride in doing their jobs, even when they aren't on the clock.

On Saturday evening one of our Joplin Police officers was off-duty and at the mall when they spotted a wanted man with active warrants.

Joplin Officers arrested 41-year-old Stephen Lewallen for outstanding warrants from Joplin, Webb City, Carthage and Jasper County and to top it off, he also had 9 grams of meth in his pocket.
