Carthage Man Sentenced On Sex Crimes

A middle-age Carthage man that pleaded guilty to having sex with a teenage girl has been sentenced to seven years in prison. Child molestation and statutory rape charges were dropped in exchange for 49-year-old Anthony Armstrong pleading guilty to second-degree statutory sodomy. Armstrong's attorney requested shock time and probation, but Jasper County Judge David Mouton denied the request since the sexual encounters happened on more than one occasion.
