The Joplin Salvation Army needs your help

The Salvation Army in Joplin needs your help. It’s been a tough year for the organization in terms of meeting their yearly fundraising goal. Even after receiving an anonymous $10,000 donation from a couple on Tuesday, Major Becky Stearns says they are still roughly $45,000 short of their year-end goal of $255,000. Their Red Kettle Campaign ended on Christmas Eve as they hit 74% of their goal.
“The Salvation Army hasn’t made it’s goal since 2013 and we’ve actually lowered our goal since then and still cannot make it and we’re just asking the community,” says Stearns. “We have cut everything that we feel we can cut without starting to cut our major social services programs.”
