Joplin Man Sentenced for Neosho Robbery

A Joplin man will spend nearly two decades behind bars after he plead guilty to robbing a Neosho Walgreens at gunpoint earlier this year. 62-year-old Michael Carter was sentenced to 17 years in prison after being charged with first-degree robbery when he stole 18 prescription bottles of narcotics from the pharmacy on February 4th. He then fled the scene and led authorities on a short chase before being arrested after crashing his car at the intersection of Neosho Boulevard and Spring Street.
