Mount Vernon Man Killed in Early Morning Accident

An early morning crash claimed the life of a Mount Vernon man. The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells Newstalk KZRG that at 3:00 a.m., 23-year-old Bruce Berg was traveling east on Highway 174, four miles east of Mount Vernon, when he crossed the center line and hit a semi. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries. The driver of the semi, 52-year-old Robert Rees, of Aurora, was not injured.
