Carthage Man Arrested for Fake Bomb Threat

A Carthage man was arrested for making terroristic threats after calling in a fake bomb threat in to Webb City High School. Around 4 Friday afternoon, a Jasper County Deputy made a traffic stop just east of Webb City. While the deputy was investigating the traffic violation, a bomb threat was called in to Webb City High. It was quickly determined that the passenger in the vehicle the deputy had stopped was the one that called in the bomb threat in an effort to get the deputy to leave the car stop and avoid the traffic ticket.

43-year-old Robert Ritter of Carthage was arrested for making terroristic threats and was transported to the Jasper County Jail. The school was checked and it was determined there was no threat.
