Shots Fired in Duquesne Yesterday Leads to More Questions Than Answers.

A report of shots being fired near Joplin schools leads to the schools being locked down and lots of confusion. News Talk KZRG spoke to Duquesne Police Department Chief Tommy Kitsch for more details.

“…A couple 911 calls in reference to a car shooting another car. Then we had a collision. The individual that was involved in the collision that allegedly being the victim vehicle, declined to cooperate with the investigation”

The incident happened near 20th and Kenser and ended with the crash on 20th and Reinmiller, and may have involved a black BMW as the second vehicle.

Due to the close proximity to local schools, and uncertainty of the situation, Soaring Heights and East Middle School were placed in temporary lock-down and Chief Kitsch commends their thoroughness in protecting area children.

Unfortunately, without more information on the second vehicle, or without a cooperating victim, trying to piece together the event is difficult, but the investigation will continue.

The driver of the crashed vehicle is currently only facing some traffic offenses and continues to refuse to assist law enforcement.
