A new bank could be coming to Joplin. The City Council will be addressing the request for a site plan review for OakStar Bank Monday night under new business during the regular council meeting. The proposed two-story 10,000 square foot building would go on the northwest corner of 20th and Connecticut.
According to it's website, OakStar Bank was formed by thirty-eight local Southwest Missouri investors in 2005. It is based in Springfield and they are hoping to add a location in the city of Joplin.
