Neosho High Student Arrested After Bringing Gun to School

A Neosho High School student was taken into custody after he brought a gun to school. Around 2:45 Thursday afternoon, a school resource officer got word that a student possible was in possession of a firearm. A Ruger 380 handgun was seized from a 15-year-old male student. The student’s intentions are still unknown at this time as the investigation is ongoing. No students were harmed and authorities believe it is an isolated incident. The boy was taken into custody and released to the Newton County Juvenile Office.
