An Inmate Has Died While in Custody at the Ottawa County Jail

An inmate at the Ottawa County Jail has passed while in custody.
Yesterday just after noon detention staff was notified that a female inmate was suffering a medical issue. OCSO Detention Officers found the Inmate seizing on the floor to her cell and called the Intergis EMS. As the Inmate was being transported she was not seizing and could communicate with EMS however the female was pronounced dead just after 1pm.
The Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s office is investigating the cause of death.
The inmate has been in custody at the OCSO since October 24th for Failure to appear on charges related to delivery of meth and possession of a controlled substance. The inmate also has a lengthy medical history and needed daily medical medication. At this time no name or information has been released pending notification of family and for investigation purposes.
