Authorities Continue Investigating Fairview Shooting

A shooting in Fairview in Newton County leaves one man injured and another behind bars. Just after 6:30 Friday night, sheriff deputies found 50-year-old William Gunter with two gunshot wounds to the torso. The suspect, 59-year-old Ty Cline was still on the scene and taken into custody on charges of First Degree Assault and Armed Criminal Action and is being held on a half a million dollar bond. Gunter was taken to a Springfield hospital where he was listed in stable condition. According to witnesses, the Cline came to Gunter’s house, entered and demanded some tools that there had been a disagreement over. The suspect then shot the victim.
