National Drug Take Back Day is Saturday

Saturday is National Drug Take Back Day around the country as it aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

The DEA reports last year’s efforts collected 912,305 pounds of prescription drugs.

Several locations around the four-states will be participating including both the Jasper and Newton County Sheriff's Offices as well as Missouri Southern, Neosho and Pittsburg Police Departments. Most initiatives run from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m.
