Jasper Teen Seriously Injured in Crash

A teenager from Jasper was hospitalized after a one-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says around 3:15 p.m., 16-year-old Ashley Garrett was traveling south on Route KK just south of Lamar, when the pickup she was driving went off the road and hit a tree. Fortunately, she was wearing her seat belt. She was taken to a Joplin hospital with serious injuries.
