Trial Set for Sheldon Murder Suspect
A January 2011 trial date is set for one of the two suspects in the stabbing deaths of Bob and Ellen Sheldon. The couple was found dead in their rural Carthage home in October 2008. Darren Winans is believed to have gone to the home with the intention of robbing the couple's store, The Old Cabin Shop, which is near their home. Prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty for Winans and the second suspect, Matthew Laurins.
