A Republican-led Missouri House wants Governor Jay Nixon gone. They'll be holding a hearing today to discuss impeaching the Democratic governor. It stems from Nixon's decision to allow same-sex couples who were legally married in other states to file joint tax returns. He tells News Talk KZRG he's following the law.
"We don't recognize gay marriage, but as far as joint filers, that's the law. And if these legislators are upset by that, rather than having hearings and attracting attention, what they ought to do is change that statute."
Nixon says he doesn't take their threats very seriously, and wants them to focus on changing the state's statute, as he's suggested.
