A group of local veterans is planning a demonstration this weekend to protest the blocking of veterans from accessing the World War II memorial in Washington DC. Ted Donaldson is a retired military vet of over 32 years, who says he's frustrated with how politicians have treated those who've served:
"It started right after the government shutdown started, with the World War II veterans that flew to DC for the specific purpose of visiting that memorial. They were turned away and even threatened with arrest. So this movement started with a group of veterans in the DC area that want to get Congress to get these memorials reopened, even if there is a shutdown."
The local rally of the Million Vet March will happen at Memorial Park in Webb City this Sunday at 9am.
