Seneca Man Killed In Morning Accident

A man from Seneca is dead after a garbage truck hit his car early this morning. Seneca Police Chief James Altic tells News Talk KZRG 74-year-old John Burton's car stalled in front of his home at 710 Osage when the truck hit his car.

"Mr. Burton was not in the vehicle, he was standing on the passenger side of it.  The trash truck struck it on the drivers side, knocking the truck into Mr. Burton. He was injured severely and later died at Freeman Hospital from the injuries."

Altic says the Missouri Highway Patrol Crash Team is handling the investigation of the crash.
