With last week's bank robbery, and another the week before that, you'd think Joplin police would be worried about a rise in crime. Lt. Darren Gallup tells News Talk KZRG that's not the case.
"If you go back and look at our crime overall, we continue to have a decrease in crime. Obviously we're concerned about the robberies happening in close proximity to each other, but we're having a good success in catching the suspects."
Over the past 6 years, Joplin police have dealt with 26 bank robberies; so far, only 2 have remained unsolved, not counting this latest one.
