Convicted Murderer Kills Self

A 20-year-old convicted killer is dead at the Jasper County jail.
The Sheriff's department identifying the body as 20-year-old Matthew Laurin, who was sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison for the stabbing deaths of Bob and Ellen Sheldon in 2008.
Laurin hanged himself using a bedsheet. He wasn't on a suicide watch at the time, despite admissions in court he was on medication for depression.
An autopsy is scheduled for today in Springfield.
